Sandra
PS - How are you doing Terry? Getting any rest? Please take care of yourself also!

Thank You Terry for keeping the up dates coming.I love the picture it so reminds me of MeeMaw. Hope you guys have a very Merry Christmas. Darla R

Thanks for the report. So good to see a picture of her and glad she is making good progress. Update on the Aggies in case she hasn't kept up. Kabongo has been kicked off the team indefinitely (he will have to earn his way back on). Heard he threw obscene sign at UTEP crowd - and by the way we lost to UTEP. Last night they looked really good against WNMU. A lot of the new players got to play and looked really good. Kabongo sat on the bench in his street clothes.
So you will be in Arizona for Christmas. Will you be staying at the same place you have been? Keep on sending updates and I am certainly keeping her in my prayers. Navora

Terry my Mom (Lillie Robertson) and I would like to visit JaNell. If you could let us know when a good time will be we would appreciate it.
Thank you so much for the updates, we praise Him with you for her continued good progress. Give her a hug for us.

Hello All,

Today started off well and all was fine until the epidural tube was removed from her back. Her pain level was at 12 earlier in the afternoon, but now is at 6. She is presently sleeping.
One of the surgeons came in this morning and said she would be ready to leave the hospital in a day or two. She didn't agree.

It's been a long hard day of pain for her. The ice pack she requested may be helping reduce the pain in the area where the tube was inserted into her side. Her doctor thinks the pain is from internal organs and the ice pack will not help. Later this afternoon they doubled the amount of pain medication, which is administered when she presses a button on her "clicker." The device only allows medication to be dispensed one time every twelve minutes. Im sure twelve minutes seems like an eternity to her.

A walking trip around the pod today may have contributed to some of the pain she has experienced this afternoon. She walked completely around with the assistance of her nurse and a walker.

I'm guessing that we will be here three more weeks.

Thank You for your prayers,

terry

Hi!
I'm sorry to hear that she is in such pain. It seems like she is moving right along though and healing as fast as can be expected. That was such a major surgery.
When Kayla's lung collapsed and she had her minor surgery, she had one of those pain management clickers and it was awesome. Even if she wasn't able to get the medicine as often as she wanted it, it was still a comfort to know it was in her hand as soon as it became available again. That was a great invention. :) I think it helps with the anxiety a little.
We will continue praying for a super speedy recovery.
Tell Janell hello for Derek and me,

Just keep me posted! Donna Smith

Terry, We are so sorry that JaNell is having to go through all this pain. All our surgeries have been stretched out over a period of years & JaNell's has been all at the same time. Plus, having chemo too. Just can't even imigine how hard this has been for her. I agree with JaNell that she should try & stay in the hospital as long as they will allow her. Thankfully, the good news is you guys will have a great place to finish out the recovery & be near the hospital & her doctors. Loyd & Carolyn called last night to check on JaNell. Loyd said when he was recovering from his (8 hr.) surgery he was in a lot of pain as well and frankly didn't want anyone around....the noise of everyone talking, laughing, & trying to cheer him up....was appreciated later on when he was back home & the pain was less severe.... He said dealing with the pain required peace, quiet, medication, & talking to the doctors and that was all he could handle.
Wish we could do something for her. Is there an address where we can mail something to you?? Thanks for the update & tell JaNell how much we love her & she's in our prayers constantly. Terry, our prayers are with you as well. Know it's especially hard on the "care givers" as well. Give us a "word" when you can. Love you both, Adrienne & Ben

Thanks Dad
Great seeing U
Give JaNell a little peck from us and tell her we love her
Blessings

Dear Terry and JaNell,
We have had to have our computer unplugged for several days as we are remodeling our house!! I missed out on lots of emails earlier but now have them all read. JaNell's "teacher" attitude is just delightful. It is my friend JaNell saying those witty things and I love it! Our whole family is praying and we are so very grateful to be on the list of how thigs are going. If you don't hear from me it is because they found me under a pile of rubbish from this house! I love you guys, keep getting well so you can come here!
Love,
sindie pietz
