Hi Terry-Thank you for the update. Let me tell you, when a patient starts thinking about their hair and make up, you know your into recovery. When I had my new hip April '10, I didn't care about anything for a few days. Then in rehab when they put the sides of the bed up and the foot higher, I climbed out and spent a few nights in a chair --and they let me. So sorry about the cancer spreading etc. tough! Between surgery and chemo these days they can control the spread and hopefully kill it off.
Lets see some pictures of what your doing in your spare time. Phoenix is beautiful. -Betty

Whoop! JaNell's my kind of girl. Thank you so much for the updates. I can only imagine the despair you and Kelly have gone through -- but JaNell will come through -- and bring you with her.
Love,
Sheila

Never doubt that she is on our prayer list..
Love ya guys

Greetings from rainy Phoenix,

Today was another good day with some sitting up in a chair and walking. Hurray, Her nose tube was removed yesterday, and the tube in her side removed today.
The epidural tube is the only tube left to go. No fever or pain, every thing is looking good today.

Good stuff: JaNell had chicken broth and jello for lunch, and a cranberry slushy and Italian icy for dinner. The first "solid" food in six days.

We will more than likely be here for three more weeks. One more week in the hospital and two weeks after release form the hospital.

JaNell has a new night nurse, Glenn, who is from the Philippines, and has transfered from San Antonio. Very efficient.

Not much drama to day, just a minor event when the people who were tasked to transport her to x ray showed up three hours late.
But, when they did arrive, it was a couple of cute guys who proceeded to charm her - she was happy.

Kelly returned to Las Cruces today at 11:00 a.m.

Thank you for your Prayers, they are very important,

terry

Wooo Hooo!!! Things are looking up!!! Every little bit to us is a major deal for JaNell. Just getting those tubes out is a big deal. We are keeping her in our prayers and hope things will continue to go "good" for her. And....getting solid food is a good sign. Especially after 6 days. Keep up the good work!!! Keep the good news coming!!! Later................... Jorie

Terry, I am so happy she is doing so well.

We received news today that Drusilla is near death. She has been fighting
colon cancer. I don't know if you do facebook, but if you can check her
wall on facebook there are posts to her from friends telling her "goodbye".
I guess Larry Trainer called Nancy Webb and Nancy called Doris.
Thought I would pass that along to you.

Does the Mayo Clinic have a place that you stay. I know they built a mini
hotel out near the one East of Scottsdale.

Don't forget to take care of yourself, too. Sometimes when we have loved
ones sick, we forget to stop and take care of our own needs..... I am sure
I don't have to tell you that, though.

Great Terry- thanks for the update.

Hey Uncle T,
So glad to hear Aunt Ja is doing better and better each day !!!! Tell her Landon is doing great and he loved seeing the picture of her eating her Italian ice. He thought it was funny that they both had orange jello for meals yesterday. Tell Aunt Ja we love her and are Praising God with the progress she has made and are praying for a full and speedy recovery.

Love you both,
Jennifer

Thanks for the good news. We are looking forward to you guys coming home with a fully recovered JaNell.

Hi Terry, was so glad to get your up-date this morning about how well JaNell is doing. I know she was probably thrilled to get some type of food in her system even if was broth and jello and get those tubes removed. I was wondering if ya'll wouldn't have to stay in Scottsdale for a while after she got out of the hospital, but I didn't want to ask. Just tell her to do exactly as they tell her to do and no more. Our thoughts and prayers are with you both. Luv, Norene
