Hello All,

• JaNell returned home today. She spent eight days in Memorial Medical Center, as a result of a fall. The doctor sent her home with a list of 11 prescriptions.

• Her wound is healing and there is little drainage from the fistula.

• She still faces major mobility challenges, which will be addressed three times a week, by a physical therapist, here at home.

• The Ambercare health care nurse will be by tomorrow to dress her wound.

• Ron and Sandra are still here helping out.

• Dinner first night at home: Der Wienerschnitzel Chili and Kraut dogs.

Thank you for your continued concern and prayers,

terry

Day 121

Hello All,

• The last two days have been rough for JaNell, nausea (dry heaves) and frequent bathroom stops.

• On a more positive note, she is doing well with physical therapy.
Her therapist has her working with a 65 cm ball, and has loaned her a cane. The cane, which was purchased at the farmer’s market and is made from a Yucca stalk, is decorated with hand-painted figurines.
With assistance, she is up and walking with the cane. I told her that it could possible be similar to the staff Moses used in the desert.

• Over all, we have seen a lot of progress, and we think this setback may be the result of a bug that is going around locally.

• Her sister, Nelda, and brother-in-law are here for a visit.

Thank you for your prayers and concern,

terry

Hello All.

• JaNell’s wounds and fistulas are healed, and she is off of pain pills, patches and antibiotics. Her back injury seams to be healing well. Dr. Huerta says that she is back to 70% of normal.
• Amber Home Care dismissed her this week, so showers and physical exercise will be up to us now.
• JaNell uses her walker only when she is tired or walking in unknown territory. The main goal is to acquire balance so she can walk with a cane. Another goal is to gain strength and stamina.
• Her appetite is improving, and the use of the treadmill and exercise bike has become part of her daily routine. Self-discipline will be needed to get busy (Her words.)
• JaNell is getting out some, and has had to buy smaller clothes and invest in a wig.
• We value your prayers and concern. We still would like to hear from you, or have you by come for a visit.
• We have been reminded that strong support from others is the key for very sick patients and their families, to come through. Many have noticed and we have felt the prayers and concern.

Thanks to all,

terry

Day 353

Hello All,

Greetings from Phoenix. JaNell received a good report from her surgeon at Mayo Clinic, yesterday. The results from the lab tests and CT scan indicated there are no tumors. Her Dr. said that she is progressing well, and to continue a healthy diet and exercise. She has an Oncologist in Las Cruces, but will return to Phoenix for a check up every six months.

Thank the Lord and all of those who prayed for us,

Terry
