Day 57 Hello All, • JaNell had a good day today, with no speed bumps. She worked with two therapist, concentrating primarily on walking. She also did arm and shoulder exercises with an elastic band. • Sue came by today and brought some cooked ground beef, chicken and strawberries. • We moved to a new room today. One with Wi-Fi. • JaNell’s sister and brother-in-law, Nelda and Royce, are coming to Phoenix tomorrow. Kelly and Krystal are coming also. More Later, terry |
From: terry <ttphotoinc@comcast.net> Jim, Tambra and Cabi, Good to hear from you, hope you survived the long drive home. We have been thinking about you, and we are hoping and praying that your surgery will be successful and recovery will be fast. Subject: Re: JaNell Surgery Report 2012.02.02 Terry, I need the address of the facility that Janell is in presently. I think she is ready for an 'edible bouquet'. There is a shop in Scotsdale, but don't know if this facility is even in Scotsdale. Thanks. |
Subject: Re: JaNell Surgery Report 2012.02.02 The Wi-Fi works good, now that we moved to a new room. There is some good sunlight in the morning that JaNell likes. Everything seems to be looking up which is good news and of great relief for all. Terry |
Subject: JaNell Surgery Report 2012.02.04 Day 59 Hello All, • Only one speed bump, caused by drinking a protein drink, marked an otherwise good day for JaNell. • She enjoyed visiting with her sister, brother-in-law, Kelly and Krystal. Her sister, Nelda, gave her a manicure and pedicure. • Good News: Her white blood cell count is lower today (13.1) than yesterday (15.3) • Not so good news: Her hemoglobin level is low (1.8) it should be (4.0) She will need to eat more protein (and keep it down.) A doctor prescribed Megace, to help her appetite. • JaNell’s vital signs were good today. She had normal temperature and blood pressure. Thank you for your prayers and concern. terry |

Day 60 Hello All, • JaNell had a good day today, with only one nauseous relapse, experienced while taking a pill. • She enjoyed watching the super bowl, her team won. She wasn’t really looking forward to seeing Madonna’s half-time performance, but was impressed how reserved her show was. • Her favorite food and drink today: Pot roast, yogurt, peanut butter, grape juice and Dr Pepper. • She enjoyed the visit of her sister and brother-in-law, Kelly and Krystal. • JaNell exercised today, on her own, with an elastic band. • White blood cell count was elevated today; no fever or high blood pressure. More later, terry |
Subject: JaNell Surgery Report 2012.02.06 Day 61 Hello All, • JaNell made it through the day, and took all of her pills, without any nausea or throwing up. • JaNell’s doctor here at Kindred Hospital ordered a blood culture, because she had a low-grade fever (100.4) and her white blood cell count was 15.5 • She has an appointment, which has been scheduled for a week, with Dr. Wasif at Mayo tomorrow. • Exercise today, consisted of walking with a physical therapist, walking in place at her bedside, and working with an elastic band. To be continued, terry |
Subject: JaNell Surgery Report 2012.02.07 Day 62 Hello All, • Today was another good day, without nausea, for JaNell. Her temperature and blood pressure were normal. • She was transported to Mayo, by ambulance, for an appointment with her surgeon, Dr. Wasif. He was pleased by the way her wound was healing, and approved of the removing of the wound vac by the Kindred doctor. • JaNell’s wound nurse, Julie, uses alginate dressings on her wound. The wound is dressed every day. • JaNell missed her session with the physical therapist, but worked with the occupational therapist, and worked out individually with an elastic band. Thank you for your prayers, terry |
