Hello All,

Another one-step forward and two-step back day of nausea and throwing up. Progress is slow and seemingly nonexistent. The doctor intended to terminate IV feeding to day, but after this day of sickness and nausea, we are wondering if he will postpone the order. Yesterday she was able to keep down “solid” food, but today she was not able to.

JaNell’s pain level has been from 3 to 4 on a scale of 10 today. She slept a lot today, in a medicated fog, even through most of the Cowboy’s game.

She said the game is what made her sick,

terry

Its good that JaNell is tough. I don't think I would last long with nausea. To me that's the worst of illnesses. Tell JaNell that the Cowboys game made me sick too. Denver got creamed also. So ... this football game day was a real bummer for me.

I can't believe it is Christmas Eve. Sheila and I were married 54 years ago tonight. Just doesn't seem possible until I look into the mirror. :-). That too makes me sick!!!!!!

We're hoping that JaNell has a pain and sickness free day for Christmas. She certainly deserves that. If she were here, we would take her out for a serving of PRIME RIB. Sounds good to me but it probably doesn't to her. We bought a big one from Albertson's yesterday and will put it in the oven Christmas morning. Lorri's family will come over and help us devour it tomorrow. All the other kids are having Christmas at their home. I've attached a photo of the clan we had here for Thanksgiving. All were here but Aaron, Susan's oldest.

We are so glad that JaNell is hanging tough and winning the battle. We are anxious for her to come home and tell us some war stories. ;-). I'll bet you all have had about all the hospital stuff you can stand.

So, from Sheila and David ......again we wish you a VERY

vI can understand your frustration! No one has stopped praying!!!!!! Proverbs 3:5-7 . I will be looking forward to tomorrows update.

Was soooo good to finally see her...she really is doing well. I think...really encourage her to do that breathing thing...he really sped up my recovery! Thx for the update...it has to be miserable to throw up in her condition. Can She eat scrambled eggs? That and chicken broth and apple juice was all I could eat as my first food for 4 days and I kept it down...oh and apllesauce (organic unsweetened...tast like blended "honeycrisps")!
Kiss our baby for me!

Merry Christmas! Eat those oranges!!!

I'm so sorry to hear of JaNell's two-step backward process! Had hoped all would be well for Christmas.

Love you,
ME

Sorry to hear of the slow progress.
The turkey was put in the oven three hours ago and the gang will be here about 11:30 to open gifts. Merry Christmas to everyone there although it will be a low key affair I'm sure. -Betty

I am so sorry, Terry. But I know that soon, it will no longer be one-step forward and two-steps back. JaNell will run forward -- and never look back. And -- if watching the Cowboys get whupped makes either of you ill, don't turn the TV on next week. It's gonna be bad...

I won't insult you by saying Merry Christmas -- just that I love you...

Hello All,

A new phrase: One-step forward and three-steps back, this is just a speed bump in the road. (Dr. Hadad (who is a young female doctor)). It’s been another night of nausea and throwing up. So, it’s more waiting, with only a clear diet, for JaNell’s digestive system to wake up.

A new term: Last evening Dr. Schneider said that JaNell's condition is called, postoperative Ileums. He says her case is caused by her pain medications.

Dr. Wasif (JaNells Main surgeon) reminded us that he discussed, before the operation, that this would be a long serious process. He said she is making progress, just as he expected, and progress which might be achieved by someone half her age.

Wanta’ see me move out. Just let JaNell yell barf bucket.

I still have some moves left.

Last evening she yelled barf bucket and I frantically searched around the room and couldn’t find it, because we had left it behind when we moved to this new room. All I could find was the small “jelly bean” tray.

It was inadequate.

Merry Christmas,

terry
