I remember my Aunt Lizzie well. It was she or mother who made me a shirt out of a chicken feed sack. I was proud of it until I got to school and was teased by classmates, because there was a little girl that showed up at school that day with a dress made from the same material.

Terry

Terry,
Your mention of the "chicken feed sack" shirt brought back a lot of memories. Grandmother Goodwin, your Aunt Lizzie, planned for months to be with Gloria when our youngest daughter, Anne, was born in 1950. Unfortunately she didn't make it...she died in July of that year and Anne was born August 31. We still have some of the things she made for the baby and had sent to us, among them the cutest baby dress made out of a flour sack!
I'm ashamed to ask you this, but when my computer went down I lost a lot of the old files and among them the family pictures you sent me and I am hopeful that you will be good enough to send them to me once again when you have the time? I certainly admire what you have done and wish that I were as talented as you are.
Best regards and love to you all,
Ralph

Dear Terry,
I have just finished reading Janell's account of my uncle Adron's life in New Mexico. I printed it out and will put it with some of the memorabilia I treasure. I thank God every day for the influence that man made upon my own life. Honesty and hard work's own reward were tenets that Adron Turner lived by and every person who ever knew him was aware of it.
The fact that you are sharing the record you have compiled of your family with me is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Ralph

Ralph.
Your mention of Aunt Lizzie and 1950 brought back memories of the year 1949 when she had her name on a list to purchase a new 1949 Ford. That year Ford had a radical body change and a new futuristic looking grill - When I saw that beautiful new car I thought it looked like it was from OUTER SPACE. The best I can remember it was maroon in color.

Terry,
Before letting another day go by I must tell you how very much I am enjoying the family history you are sharing with me. I spent hours this afternoon looking at pictures of your family . I wish I knew the names of those wonderful kids of yours. I know you must enjoy the many activities you do as a family together.
I am now 81 years old and I left New Mexico when you were just a little tyke so we never had a chance to get to know each other. Gloria and I spent July 4, 1947 at the ranch near Ramon, when Adrienne Joyce was about 14 as I recall, so we have fond memories of her at that time. When I saw the pictures of you and your daughter at the White Sands it brought back many of the memories I have of the times when my grandmother Will used to take all the family there for over night outings. We would sleep on the sand and even in the summertime, when it was hot as blue blazes in the daytime it would get very cold at night!
I want to thank you again for bringing so much pleasure to me at this stage of my life.
Love and best regards to you and each member of your family,
Ralph
