<The 94th birthday of Mrs. RenaTurner, a former Portales resi.dent, was celebrated with a familydinner at her home In House.New Mexico, Sunday. In the afternoon open house was held forall her friends.Mn. Turner became a residentof Portales In 1899, but movedfrom here In 1909. Her birthdayis on is on December 31. but the occasionwas observed the following dayday, She has raised 11 children.A large oblong sheet cake, decoratedwith confection roses and 94 candles graced the dining table.Adron Turner and his son, Terry.of Portales, with the secondattempt, blew out the candles.Those present for the dinnerwere Mr. and Mrs. Adron Turner(a son) and children Adrienne andTerry, and Mr. and Mrs. J. A.FaIrly (a cousin of Mrs. RenaTurner), Portales; Mr. and Mrs.Alfred Turner (a son) and Mr.and Mrs. William W. Marlin(cousin) and two Sons of House;George Turner (son) of Yeso, N.M., and Mrs. Lela Mryrick (daughter)of Borger. Grandchildren present were Mrs. Jeff Lemly, Crosbyton; Mr. and Mrs. V. D. riley and children to Taiban; Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Brewer and four children of Roswell; and Mr. and Mrs. Ted Caraway and Cathy of Downing, Calif. Four children were unable to attend. they were Mrs. Lizzie Goodwin, who makes her home with her mother at House, but was visiting her son B. B. Boykin and family, in Anaheim, California ; Mrs Carol Colleasure, Anaheim, Calif., Mrs. George Prim of Bullhead city, Airz., and J. E. Fain of Bentonville, Ark. during the afternoon friends and neighbors visited Mrs. Turner and played their string instruments and sang religious songs in addition to "Beautiful Texas" and "Fair New Mexico". In Conclusion, Mrs. Turner requested the group sing "cotton Eyed Joe." Fifty guests singed the guest book, Including Rev. and Mrs. Roy C. Watson of House. >
