| In 1918, Adron Turner and his friend, Frank Singleton (Gerald Singleton's Dad), were in basic training together at Camp Travis, San Antonio, Texas. One payday one of their fellow soldiers asked Adron if he could borrow twenty dollars, so he could travel home to visit his family. Frank advised Adron to not loan him the money, because he thought that Adron would never be repaid. However, Adron loaned him the money anyway; Frank was right, Adron never got his money back. |
