End of War Celebration There was a small dirt tank by the Rock House, which caught water for the cistern, that had weeds* growing in it. Adrienne and I made a playhouse in the weeds, by tramping them down to make “rooms.” When we heard the news that World War 11 was over, we celebrated by beating the weeds down with sticks. We were careful to only beat the weeds down in a limited area; we didn’t want to totally destroy the playhouse. * Horseweed or Marestail: Conyza Canadensis |
