Alice Nell Dick, 75, passed away Friday, January 29, 2010. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 4, at the Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Randy Elfman, pastor of Central Church of the Nazarene, Roswell, Rev. Rodney Riggan, Chaplain at Lubbock Covenant Hospital, and Rev. Steve Swanson, pastor of the church officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors. Alice Dick was born April 21, 1934 in Roswell, New Mexico to the late Bud and Norma Taylor. She was 12 years old when she started to play the piano in church. She said that God had called her to play and she was the pianist for the Dumas Nazarene church for 33 years. She attended Southern Nazarene University. On January 11, 1958 she married James Dick in Roswell. She worked for Nazarene World Missionary Headquarters and 10 years for Burkett Drilling before retiring and returning to Roswell. Her lifetime joy was her family and she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She had been a resident of Dumas since 2002 and was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include; her husband, James of the home; sons, Dwight Dick and wife, Ruth of Weatherford, Deland Dick and wife, Lori of Dumas; grandchildren, Quay, Kord, and Jessica King of Dumas, Derringer and Townsend Dick of Weatherford; brothers, Lawrence Taylor and wife, Joan of Roswell, Clearance Taylor and wife, Phyllis of Sun City West, AZ, Ben Taylor and wife, Adrianne of Portales, NM, Loyd Taylor and wife, Caroline of Bryan. Visitation with family and friends will be held from 7:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, February, 3 at Morrison Funeral Directors. The family suggests memorials be to Nazarene World Missions, 402 Porter, Dumas, TX 79029 or to the Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Center, 1500 Wallace Blvd, Amarillo, TX 79106. |
